Command Center
The Command Center is where you look after your server. Select Settings in the sidebar to open it. It shows your server’s health, storage, backups and jobs, and every setting in plain language.
Everyone can open it for their own preferences. Administrators also see the server-wide areas.
Find your way around
Section titled “Find your way around”Settings are grouped into nested areas, each with an icon and short plain-language rows. When a setting doesn’t apply to just you, a tag says so: Just you, This device or Whole server. Use the search at the top to find a setting by name.
Administrators see these areas:
| Group | Areas |
|---|---|
| Command center | Overview, Library analytics, Backup |
| Your library | Storage & originals, Import & protection, Search & intelligence, Editing & playback, People & sharing, Library care, Libraries, Utilities, Trash |
| Your server | Compute & jobs, Frameleaf Cloud, Access & security, Notifications, Server & updates, Maintenance, Users |
| Personal | Your preferences, Change history |
What each server setting does is covered in System settings.
Overview
Section titled “Overview”The overview shows, at a glance:
- the server’s version and build
- disk capacity
- recovery readiness: whether you’ve proved your backup can restore. A restore test falls due 90 days after the last one
- what’s processing now
- only the issues you can act on
Change settings safely
Section titled “Change settings safely”- One draft across pages. Change settings anywhere in the Command Center, then choose Review changes to see everything you changed before you Save changes.
- Several administrators can edit at once. Their changes are merged, and you’re told if someone else saved first.
- Export and import settings as a JSON file from Server & updates, then Configuration transfer. Secrets aren’t included. To manage settings from a file on disk instead, see Config file.
- Change history keeps the last 50 saves.
- Secrets such as the sign-in provider’s client secret or the mail password show only as Stored or Not set. You can replace them, never read them. See Server credentials.
Library analytics
Section titled “Library analytics”Library analytics shows how your library has grown: totals and the span of years, what was added recently, storage used and how much deduplication saved, photos by year and by time of day, cameras, lenses and formats, and how much of the library is dated, located, described, face-checked, search-indexed and checksummed. People and places are shown only to their owner. You can export the figures as CSV.
Compute & jobs lists every job queue. Pause, resume or clear a queue, retry failed jobs, change how many run at once (through the same review draft), or create a maintenance job. Each job shows the account and the worker it belongs to. See Workers and where jobs run.
People on your server
Section titled “People on your server”In Users you can:
- add people and set a storage quota in GiB (leave it blank for unlimited)
- reset someone’s password or their Locked PIN
- delete an account. It’s removed after a delay, 7 days by default, and can be restored until then
See Users for the details.
When your server is linked to Frameleaf Cloud, you can also invite people with their Frameleaf account. Each gets their own library the first time they sign in.
Sign-in
Section titled “Sign-in”People can sign in with a password, through your own sign-in provider (such as Authentik, Authelia, Keycloak or Google), and with Sign in with Frameleaf when the server is linked. Linking accounts by email needs a verified email address. See Sign-in and OAuth.
A new server’s setup code
Section titled “A new server’s setup code”Until a server has an administrator, it prints an 8-character setup code (XXXX-XXXX) and a QR code on its console and in its log. The code only works from your home network, and a new one is issued after 5 wrong tries.
You can claim a new server in three ways: on its web page, in the Frameleaf app with your Frameleaf account (no server password needed), or in the app with an email and password. See Setting up a new server.
Maintenance
Section titled “Maintenance”- Maintenance mode pauses access for everyone except administrators while you work on the server.
- Restore a database backup from Settings, then Maintenance. You type
RESTOREto confirm, a restore point is taken first, and the server rolls back automatically if anything fails. See Backup and restore. - Integrity reports list missing files, files the library doesn’t know about and checksum mismatches. See System integrity.
Updates
Section titled “Updates”Turn on Check for updates in Server & updates, then Versions & compatibility to be told about new releases. It asks Frameleaf’s release feed, daily or weekly as you choose, and falls back to Frameleaf’s GitHub releases if the feed can’t answer. Nothing about your library is sent. Choose the stable or beta channel. See Upgrading.
Frameleaf Cloud
Section titled “Frameleaf Cloud”Frameleaf Cloud in the Command Center has your account link, plan, licence, remote access, cloud processing and cloud backup side by side. See Frameleaf Cloud.
