Notifications
Frameleaf keeps you up to date in three ways: the notifications panel and Activity page in the web app, email, and push notifications to the Frameleaf apps.
In the web app
Section titled “In the web app”- The bell opens your notifications. Dismiss them one at a time. You can pause or resume a job queue straight from a notification.
- Activity lists every job with its stage: Queued, Starting, Running, then Done, Failed, Cancelled or Paused. Studio renders and cloud jobs show what they cost.
Long jobs, such as Studio renders, restorations, imports and Library Care scans, keep running if you close the browser and survive a server restart.
Your server can email you when:
- your account is created
- you’re added to a shared album
- new photos or videos are added to a shared album you’re in
Choose which emails you get in Settings, then Notifications:
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Receive email notifications | All email from your server. Turning it off also turns off the two below | On |
| Album invitations | Email when someone adds you to a shared album | On |
| Album updates | Email when photos or videos are added to a shared album you’re in | On |
Save your changes when you’re done.
Email only works once an administrator has set up the server’s mail settings in Settings, then Notifications, then Email delivery. Administrators can also change the wording of each email.
On your phone
Section titled “On your phone”When the iPhone and Android apps are available, your server can send notifications to them:
- backup needs attention
- backup hasn’t run for a while
- Cloud Backup setup
- something was shared with you
- memories
- a video or export is ready
- your access changed
Turn each kind on or off per server in the app.
Private by design
Section titled “Private by design”Every notification is encrypted by your server for your device before it’s sent. Frameleaf’s push service, Apple and Google only pass along an unreadable message. Locked, sensitive and hidden items are never included in a notification.
Push notifications need the server to be linked to Frameleaf Cloud, and an administrator to set FRAMELEAF_PUSH_URL to https://push.frameleaf.cloud. See Environment variables.
