Colour
Studio lets you set the look of each clip, from a quick exposure fix to a full grade.
Quick adjustments
Section titled “Quick adjustments”Select a clip and open the colour controls to change its exposure, contrast, saturation and temperature. Reset grade puts a clip back as it was.
Colour wheels and scopes
Section titled “Colour wheels and scopes”In Advanced mode you get:
- Colour wheels for Lift, Gamma and Gain, each with its own reset. They work with the keyboard too.
- Scopes: a luma waveform, a vectorscope and an RGB histogram. Scopes measure the frame you’re actually looking at.
More colour tools
Section titled “More colour tools”The editor also includes:
- Levels and curves, for the whole image or for red, green and blue separately
- Hue, vibrance, temperature and tint
- A secondary qualifier to pick a colour range, such as skin or sky, and correct only that
- Power windows, an ellipse or rectangle that limits a correction to part of the frame
- Gradient maps
- LUTs: apply a
.cubefile with an intensity control - Black and white, sepia and invert
HDR projects
Section titled “HDR projects”A project becomes an HDR project automatically when it contains HDR media, such as HDR video from a phone. There’s no switch to set.
- Highlights brighter than white and very saturated colours are kept through every edit until the final output.
- On a standard display, an HDR project’s preview is tone-mapped rather than clipped, and labelled Tone-mapped preview, not the colour reference.
HDR export is still being finished. See Exporting for what’s available.
