Workflows
Workflows are simple rules that run on your server: when something happens, check a condition, then do something. For example: when a photo or video is uploaded, if it’s a video, add it to an album and tag it.
Triggers
Section titled “Triggers”A workflow starts when:
- a photo or video is uploaded
- its metadata has been read
- its tags change
Workflows don’t run on a schedule.
Build a workflow
Section titled “Build a workflow”The workflow designer offers the triggers, filters and actions your server has installed. Add the steps you want, in order.
Check and preview
Section titled “Check and preview”Check and preview walks through the workflow step by step as a dry run. It shows what each step would do without actually running any of them. Use it before you turn a workflow on.
Turn on, share and remove
Section titled “Turn on, share and remove”- Turn a workflow on or off at any time, or delete it. You can also do this from the Frameleaf apps.
- Export a workflow as a JSON file to keep it or move it to another server, and import one the same way. Passwords and other credentials are removed from exports.
- Once a workflow’s steps have run on an item, the run is never marked as failed afterwards.
Other ways to automate
Section titled “Other ways to automate”- Smart albums gather photos that match a rule.
- AI descriptions and smart albums sort photos into Travel, Food, Pets and more.
- Nightly jobs, such as database backups and integrity checks, run on their own.
